Experimental Design

Experimental Design
For a weight loss experiment, we allowed students to opt into one information treatment or one no-information treatment (the details of which we prefer not to disclose at this stage).

Pairing for standard experiments such as dictator games is randomized among students, with names and majors revealed to each other.
Experimental Design Details
Randomization Method
in office by a computer
Randomization Unit
Individual students
Was the treatment clustered?
No

Experiment Characteristics

Sample size: planned number of clusters
one university's two campuses
Sample size: planned number of observations
around 2000
Sample size (or number of clusters) by treatment arms
around 1000 pairs for each paired experiments
Minimum detectable effect size for main outcomes (accounting for sample design and clustering)
