Abstract
The purpose of this pilot is to calibrate the willingness to intervene of witnesses of violence against women, by means of an incentivized survey experiment. The information obtained will be used to design a subsequent survey experiment. The pilot will also be used to assess the set of questions included in the survey.

Experimental Design

Experimental Design
Participants will read a realistic and well-explained scenario of violence against women (a vignette) and, given this
context, will choose whether to intervene or not. Half of participants will have the option to intervene by denouncing the aggressor to the police (Treatment 1: punishing the aggressor), and the other half will have option to the intervene by reporting the abuse to social services (Treatment 2: helping the victim).
Each participant receives an initial endowment. Participants who choose to intervene will give up part of the endowment in favor of a well-recognised NGO created to strengthen the laws that punish VAW aggressors and to help victims of VAW. Those who decide not to intervene will keep the total endowment for themselves. Each participant will take the same decision nine times in which the part of their endowment they give up is increasing (for half of participants) or decreasing (for the other half).
