Abstract
We will conduct a study to determine how people perceive men and women using tentative and assertive language. We will examine whether the perception of our treatments creates a difference in the willingness to pay for an expert for each gender and language type combination.

Participants will pay for advice from an expert to assist them in making a prediction of an economic variable and increase their chances of being accurate in their prediction and winning an monetary award.

Experimental Design
2x2 between-subjects design. Each participant only experiences one of the four possible treatments.
Experimental Design Details
The 4 treatments are a male expert using assertive language, a female expert using assertive language, a male expert using tentative language, and a female using tentative language.
