Experimental Design

Experimental Design
Lab experiment. Participants work as a group. Each participant need to collect experimental units. They can collect by producing by themselves or exchange with other participants by initiating costly links. Each participant might has different ability of producing.
Experimental Design Details
Randomization Method
By a computer. Participants are randomly assigned into 12 treatments, and they are randomly assigned into one of the groups in each treatment.
Randomization Unit
1) Participants will be randomly assigned into one of the 12 groups. 2) Whether this group will be treatment or control is also randomly determined by computer before experiment start.
Was the treatment clustered?
No

Experiment Characteristics

Sample size: planned number of clusters
2 universitites
Sample size: planned number of observations
304 university students, 152 students from university 1 and 152 students from university 2.
Sample size (or number of clusters) by treatment arms
24 students in the control group, and each treatment group contains 24-32 students.
Minimum detectable effect size for main outcomes (accounting for sample design and clustering)
