Abstract
We conduct a survey experiment to study whether providing survey participants with truthful information about the impact of maternal labor supply decisions on child outcomes affects maternal labor supply intentions and beliefs about returns to maternal labor supply.

Primary Outcomes

Primary Outcomes (end points)
We will elicit respondents' labor supply intentions for the hypothetical situation in which they have a young child and a place in full-day childcare is available to them. This continuous measure of labor supply intentions will be our main outcome of interest. See the pre-analysis plan for more details on the construction of our primary outcome.
Primary Outcomes (explanation)

Secondary Outcomes

Secondary Outcomes (end points)
Beliefs about the returns to maternal labor supply on child outcomes. See the pre-analysis plan for more details on the construction of our secondary outcomes.
Secondary Outcomes (explanation)

Experimental Design

Experimental Design
Survey participants will be randomly assigned into a treatment and control group. Before the primary and secondary outcomes are elicited, the treatment group will receive truthful information about the results of a recently published research study (Nicoletti, Salvanes, Tominey, JOLE, 2023). See the pre-analysis plan for a detailed description of the experimental design.

Sample size: planned number of observations
1,000 respondents
Sample size (or number of clusters) by treatment arms
The 1,000 respondents have an equal (50%) chance of being randomized into the treatment or control group.
