Abstract
We design and conduct large-scale survey experiments in the United States to understand how attitudes towards poverty influence preferences for redistribution. We experimentally vary information on household socioeconomic status to measure redistributive preferences. In addition, we collect detailed information that will allow us to test various mechanisms.

Experimental Design

Experimental Design
Our survey experiment includes eight treatments in a between-subject design. The experiment is implemented online using Amazon Mechanical Turk (Mturk) participants via CloudResearch. Participants receive detailed instructions and are compensated for their time.
