Abstract
This study investigates gender and ethnic differences in self-presentation strategies with human recruiters vs. automated systems in hiring contexts. The study is conducted on the Prolific experiment platform in the US and the UK through a vignette survey experiment.

Experimental Design
Subjects are randomized into two groups, where they are asked to answer a series of self-assessment and open-ended questions on their job and career preferences. In the control group, participants are told that their answers will be evaluated by professional recruiters. In the treatment group, they are told that their answers will be evaluated by automatic screening systems.
