Experimental Details

Interventions

Intervention(s)
This study will explore ambiguity attitudes across the parameter space by systematically varying parameters of general three-color problems. Participants will be randomly assigned to treatment arms that vary in terms of the number of known vs unkown balls. Participants will also complete corresponding risk tasks in which the number of balls of each color are fully specified.

Primary Outcomes

Primary Outcomes (end points)
Measures of ambiguity attitudes collected in the form of valuations and choices.

Secondary Outcomes (explanation)

Experimental Design

Experimental Design
Elicitation of ambiguity attitudes using techniques similar to McGranaghan et al. (2024).
Experimental Design Details
Not available
Randomization Method
By computer in background code.
Randomization Unit
Individual.
Was the treatment clustered?
No

Experiment Characteristics

Sample size: planned number of clusters
2,000 individuals
Sample size: planned number of observations
2,000 individuals
Sample size (or number of clusters) by treatment arms
1,200 observations per number of known balls in the urn
Minimum detectable effect size for main outcomes (accounting for sample design and clustering)
See included pre-analysis plan for details.
