Abstract
The study aims to document evidence of the effectiveness of child/youth participation in influencing climate change agendas, actions, and policies in Somalia. The study will specifically focus on the following sub-objectives:

To establish the current form of how children are participating in the climate change actions;

To establish the most effective form of participation of children and young people in influencing climate change actions; and,

To evaluate the formal accountability mechanisms or structures in allowing children and communities to monitor commitments made and action taken by the duty bearers.

Experimental Design

Experimental Design
The study will be conducted in areas where the current Norad framework is implemented in Somalia. Specifically, the research project will leverage on Norad 2024-2028 Framework in Southern states (Hiran and Galgadud regions) and Puntland (Bari and Mudug regions). The study will include children, and other community members from the NORAD-supported schools in Puntland (Bari and Mudug regions), Southern States (Hiran and Galgadud regions).

Eligible schools from pre-identified districts will be randomly assigned to the intervention or control group, by a random sequence generated using the IBM-SPSS software. The researcher responsible for randomizing will be blinded to participants.
