This study investigates whether flexible repayments microequity products are viable tools for small scale local MFIs to select and promote the growth of high-risk high-return micro entrepreneurial projects?

Flexible contracts(the treatment group); 6 months with the option of extending to between 8-12 months
Rigid Contracts( Control group) ; 6 months fixed with no option to extend

We want to study whether there would be a difference between the two groups along a number of key variables of interest including , the magnitude of investment, Household Income, Household consumption etc

Experimental Design

Experimental Design
Randomisation;
1. Interested clients of our local partner FNGO were invited to a baseline workshop
2. They completed a baseline survey and participated in behavioural games
A simple public randomisation process was used .We had small pieces of papers with number 1 and 2 written on them ,with 1 signifying the Rigid contract and 2 means Flexible contract.
