Intervention(s)

Intervention (Hidden)

We will conduct an intervention with the following arms (i) Political Outgroup Conversation Treatment: 30-minute conversation about political topics with a person from the opposing political side (left/right), (ii) Video Treatment: 3-5 minute video correcting beliefs about conversations and opposing political side, (iiI) control arm: 5-minute video about non-political topics (e.g. cooking or traveling). In addition, to incentivize elicitations, a small number of participants are randomized into (iv) Political Ingroup Conversation Treatment, (v) Non-Political Outgroup Conversation Treatment, and (vi) Non-Political Ingroup Treatment. These final treatments will not be used for analysis.
