Before
Information on sustainable practices is delivered by enumerators. Treated labs will go through the checklist of practices with the enumerators and describe how they have followed these.
The calculators will be sent via email to treated labs following the baseline data collection. They will be filled in with the equipment types and practices that the lab reported at baseline and provide the lab with estimates of their energy use, and the associated emissions and costs. The labs will be encouraged to interact with these calculators throughout the study period.
Treated labs will be informed about the certification scheme. The audit for certification will be administered by the enumerators when they conduct the endline survey in December.
Control lab groups do not receive information on sustainable practices, access to calculators, nor are they informed about certification during the study period.
