Abstract
This study examines green saving preferences. To this end, the study draws on a survey experiment to be fielded among a representative sample of the French population. Green savings choice & information regarding environmental policies will be randomly provided and we will analyze its impact.

- The support for policies other than the ones randomly shown
- Impact on green choice preferences
Secondary Outcomes (explanation)

Experimental Design

Experimental Design
There are 3 main groups of treatments: G1 is the control group G2 & G3 each show a different environmental policy. Each treatment group G is split in two. The treatment corresponding to one treatment group is then shown in a different position in the survey across the two subgroups.
Experimental Design Details
In G1 we ask twice about the green asset demand to look at the impact of choosing the green assets on the green savings demand. At the end of the survey for the G1 subgroup G1b, we assume the implementation of a first ensemble of policies. The aim is to look at its impact on the support for other policies.
In G2 we assume that a second ensemble of policies is implemented towards the beginning of the survey. The primary aim is to look at the impact on green asset demand but also on green asset choice. In the G2a subgroup, that assumption is shown earlier in the survey than in the G2b subgroup to study its impact on support for other policies.
In G2 we assume that a third package of policies is implemented towards the beginning of the survey. The primary aim is to look at the impact on green asset demand but also on green asset choice. In the G3a subgroup, that assumption is shown earlier in the survey than in the G3b subgroup to study its impact on support for other policies.
Randomization Method
Randomization using the survey software randomization tools
Randomization Unit
3 main treatment groups of about 1,000 respondents G1, G2, G3 each divided in 2 subgroups of about 500 respondents
Was the treatment clustered?
Yes

Experiment Characteristics

Sample size: planned number of clusters
3 main treatment groups G1, G2, G3
Sample size: planned number of observations
3 main treatment groups G1, G2, G3 of about 1,000 respondents each.
Sample size (or number of clusters) by treatment arms
3,000 complete answer surveys : 3 main treatment groups G1, G2, G3 of about 1,000 respondents each, each of them divided in 2 subgroups of about 500 respondents each.
Minimum detectable effect size for main outcomes (accounting for sample design and clustering)
