Primary Outcomes

Primary Outcomes (end points)
Within the survey, we are interested in whether stated perceptions of how a vacancy will be filled change. Outside of the survey we are interested in whether they post a new vacancy, change the characteristics of existing vacancies, or remove their vacancy (in duration). We are also interested in the qualities of the new hire they make (if they make a hire).

Experimental Design

Experimental Design
The design will randomize labor market information to respondents using information embedded in a survey, as well as a link.
Experimental Design Details
Not available
Randomization Method
Randomization done in office by computer
Randomization Unit
markets (defined by industry-state) will be randomized into treatment shares (25%, 50%, 75%)
Within market, respondents will be randomized into treatment and control according to their assigned share.
Was the treatment clustered?
No

40,000 establishments
Sample size: planned number of observations
40,000 establishments
Sample size (or number of clusters) by treatment arms
Roughly 20,000 establishments in treatment and 20,000 establishments in control
Minimum detectable effect size for main outcomes (accounting for sample design and clustering)
