Abstract
This study investigates the pontential impacts of client characteristics on frontline employees' extra-role behavior. In our study, we focus on teachers' extra-role behavior. In our discrete choice experiment, there are six types of attributes: attitude deservingness (proactiveness and gratitude), reciprocity deservingness, needed deservingness, earned deservingness, and resource deservingness. Teachers will receive two descriptions regarding two students, and then they need to answer which student they are more willing to help in their private time.

Experimental Design

Experimental Design
There are six types of attributes: attitude deservingness (proactiveness and gratitude), reciprocity deservingness, needed deservingness, earned deservingness, and resource deservingness.

We employ the fractional factorial designs to construct 8 choice sets. The 8 choice sets are evenly divided into two blocks. Meanwhile, we also check participants' attention by including an attention test. Participants will randomly receive one of blocks and the attention test.

Experiment Characteristics

Sample size: planned number of clusters
The treatment is not clustered
Sample size: planned number of observations
More than 1000 teacher will be invited to participate. Similar studies have had a response rate around 50-65 %, thus around 500 responses can be expected.
Sample size (or number of clusters) by treatment arms
Block 1: 250 teachers
Block 2: 250 teachers
Minimum detectable effect size for main outcomes (accounting for sample design and clustering)
