Primary Outcomes (End Points) 1. Prejudice: Following Stephan et al. (1999) we assess prejudice through asking participants in how far they feel certain emotions regarding the groups of refugees that came to Germany since spring 2015. Emotions are assessed on a scale from 1 to 7 using five bipolar pairs of emotions. These emotions are admiration, rejection, compassion, warmth and acceptance. Rejection, as negative emotion, will be reversely coded. 2. Discrimination: Similar to Wagner et al. (2008), discrimination is measured by asking participants about their (behavioral) intentions to discriminate. In particular, agreement on a 7-point scale should be rated for the following three statements, where 1 means fully agreement and 7 means no agreement at all. Question Q1.3(1): “I would try to avoid moving into a neighborhood where a refugee accommodation is located.” Question Q1.3(2): “I would try to avoid registering my child into a school with a high rate of children that are refugees.” Question Q1.3(3): “I would rather dislike if a person from my close family would marry a refugee.” 1. Prejudice 2. Discrimination
