Primary Outcomes

Primary Outcomes (end points)
- Fertility intentions: capturing both quantum and timing dimensions, including desired number of children, the subjective probabilities of having each child, and the expected age at which each child is planned to be born.
- Posterior beliefs: beliefs about hourly wage and annual after-tax wage income changes for the participant’s couple after the information intervention.

Not available
Randomization Method
Randomization is done by the online survey system. Participants are randomly assigned to either a treatment group or a control group.
Randomization Unit
The unit of randomization is at the participant level.
Was the treatment clustered?
No

Experiment Characteristics

Sample size: planned number of clusters
n/a
Sample size: planned number of observations
about 1000 participants (subject to change due to unpredictable sample attrition).
Sample size (or number of clusters) by treatment arms
1000/2
Minimum detectable effect size for main outcomes (accounting for sample design and clustering)
As the sample is large enough, power for economically significant effects is not a concern. But if needed, we will calculate power after the data is collected and standard deviations are known.
