This project will evaluate the effectiveness of the Remote Triple P (Positive Parenting Program) Level 4 Group intervention for primary caregivers of children aged 4 to 12 in the Metropolitan Region of Chile. While Triple P is an evidence-based behavioral family intervention with widespread global evaluation, a significant gap remains in the literature regarding its effectiveness within Latin American populations. To address this gap, this study will conduct an individual-level randomized controlled trial (RCT) with a target sample of 400 families. Eligible participants will be randomly assigned in a 1:1 ratio into either a treatment group receiving the free 8-week online program (combining synchronous group sessions and individual consultations) or a pure control group. Randomization will be stratified by caregiver educational attainment and child developmental diagnosis (ASD/ADHD).
Primary outcomes will assess child social, emotional, and behavioral difficulties using the Strengths and Difficulties Questionnaire (SDQ). Secondary survey outcomes will evaluate dysfunctional discipline styles and functional parenting practices. Furthermore, conditional on institutional data-sharing agreements, the study will link survey records to administrative microdata to evaluate medium- and long-term trajectories. These long-term secondary outcomes will include caregiver labor market indicators, child educational trajectories, and juvenile justice records.
