Abstract
We randomize different resources among participants to an acceleration program and follow the ventures bi-weekly during the program. Specifically, we randomize access to knowledge resources (training, mentoring, peer-interactions), and financial resources (eg. grants) in two treatment groups. One group gets access to both knowledge and financial resources, the second group access only knowledge resources and then there is the comparison group that does not access any resources.

Experimental Design

Experimental Design
Potential participants will apply in advance to an acceleration program. The initial application will help us collect demographic data about the entrepreneurs as well as data about the venture characteristics.
Once the application period is closed, all entrepreneurs will be invited to an onboarding session. We will inform participants that the purpose of onboarding is to allow all applicants to participate at the final demo day competition regardless of their selection outcome. We will also announce the date of the competition and the final prizes for the winners. This is a key incentive to reduce attrition from the control group and motivate all entrepreneurs to work on their venture ideas regardless of their resource accumulation.
All participants who complete the onboarding session will be randomly assigned to two different treatments and a control group. Random assignment to treatments and control will be stratified by gender, resource endowment, and industry. We will then announce the participants assigned to the financial and entrepreneurial capital treatment T2 as the ventures selected to participate in the acceleration program “Dare Inc Acceleration”. We will inform the rejected participants that they have been selected for “Dare Inc Training” T1. Finally, the two treatment groups will start at the same time and last for 12 weeks ending with the demo day competition that will gather all treatment and control groups.
