Abstract
What incentive mechanism can effectively encourage people to establish good habits? We use the method of field experiment, and take exercise habits as the point of departure to study this issue. In particular, our subjects are university students, and we explore the influence of different incentive mechanisms on the frequency of students participating in sports. We mainly focus on non-monetary incentives.

Experimental Design

Experimental Design
We invite students to our lab to fill in a short survey about health and ask for their consent to access their data of using the university sports facilities. Then students are put into different treatment according to their previous gym attendance frequencies. In the control condition, we simply add them on WeChat without sending any messages. In the treatment conditions, we send different messages to them once a week for 5 weeks. After the intervention period, we keep monitoring them for around 6 months to see if they would develop a habit of doing exercises.
