Before
More detailed explanation on the treatments
Information only: Participants in this group will receive a set of information about benefits of COVID-19 vaccines, availability of vaccines, distribution of infection and fatality rates, among others delivered by field workers verbally.
Information and accessibility: Participants in this group will receive assistance with registration/enrolment, transportation, and reminders (SMS and calls) about vaccination. Participants will receive help to identify the nearest vaccination center and transportation there. This assistance will be provided field workers.
Information and encouragement from local eminent individuals: Participants in this group will receive information and will be personally visited by local eminent figures (we refer to them as vaccine ambassadors). To recruit the ambassadors, we will approach village leaders (village heads or elders) to identify the most respected and trusted eminent figure in their community (e.g., religious leaders, teachers, doctors) and ask him/her to campaign and propagate information to address misconceptions related to the available vaccines. Specifically, the selected ambassadors are asked to disseminate specific information (in addition to basic information being provided to all) to address misconceptions related to the available vaccines and convince them to get vaccinated. The ambassadors will pay a personal visit to participants’ houses.
