Abstract
Political radicalization leads to significant economic costs. Modern information and communication technologies offer a suitable set of tools for cost-effective targeting the people at risk of radicalizing. The gamification approach in particular promises to increase engagement, learning, and therefore impact of any prevention measure. Using a randomized online field experiment, we investigate the impact of a gamified online intervention on political radicalization.

Experimental Design

Experimental Design
We conduct a randomized online field experiment (randomized controlled trial, RCT) by randomly assigning the participants into one treatment group and one control group. We expose the treatment group to the interactive film. The control group receives no treatment.
Experimental Design Details
Randomization Method
Random assignment via random generator.
Randomization Unit
Individual level.
Was the treatment clustered?
No
