Abstract
Electronic game now has a new version for its gambling part which is called pity system which gives player a guaranteed one time of win after a consecutive number of loss. The effect of this pity system to people’s purchasing preference of electronic lottery is unclear especially when game companies have adopted this system in their games. We design a online experiment to test the effect of this new system and to find whether pity system increase people’s preference to buy the lottery by person or by group.

Interventions

Intervention(s)
We randomly assign subject into three group:
1) Group 1 of pure random lottery
2) Group 2 of same lottery but with pity system
3) Group 3 of lottery with pity system and control its expectation.
Intervention Start Date
2023-04-26
Intervention End Date

Primary Outcomes

Primary Outcomes (end points)
The number of lottery each subject buy.
Primary Outcomes (explanation)
We will bulid a risk tolerence index, which follow the same way of paper Grable, J. E., & Lytton, R. H. (1999).

Secondary Outcomes

Secondary Outcomes (end points)
Secondary Outcomes (explanation)

Experimental Design

Experimental Design
1.Recruit subjects using Prolific
2.Subjects will do a risk tolerence survey to get token for buying lottery.
3.Subjects will be randomly assigned to 3 groups.
4.Subjects will use token to buy lottery multiple times and get reward.
5.Finish a after game survey.
