Abstract
We will use the experimental methodology to conduct an intervention of the growth mindset for Chinese schoolchildren who are aged from 10-11 with regards to high and low socio-economic status (SES). The sample comes from a China's primary school where we will randomize classes into control groups (treated) and treated groups. Relevant preferences will be measured for examining the effects of an intervention.
Through a several-week curriculum, we aim at improving the growth mindset of schoolchildren from low SES families and reducing the difference in growth mindset, academic outcomes, and relevant preferences between high and low SES children.

Experimental Design

Experimental Design
We have four groups, including two control groups and two treatment groups. Four groups will be selected from the same school, which makes sure all groups share the same quality of educating resources. Two control groups compromise of one high socio-economic status (SES) group and one low SES group. Control groups will not receive any interventions. Two treatment groups also include one high SES group and one low SES group. In treated groups, schoolchildren will receive a curriculum of the growth mindset intervention. Before the intervention starts, we will collect data of growth mindset and some other relevant preferences. After the intervention, we will take a standard math exam for all subjects. Meanwhile, we also collect the data of preferences.
