Experimental Design

Experimental Design
Enumerated Areas were chosen based on whether they had less than 65% radio penetration. The randomization was then done on the locality level of Enumerated Areas, where half received gifts while the other half serve as controls. The gifts given were either a radio or poster. Within treatment Enumerated Areas, every other sampled household was offered a cheap wind-up radio while the others was offered a poster.
Experimental Design Details
Randomization Method
Randomization done in office by a computer.
Randomization Unit
Randomization occurred at two levels. Enumerated Areas were randomly assigned to the treatment or control group. Within treatment Enumerated Areas, every other sampled household was offered a cheap wind-up radio while the others was offered a poster.
Was the treatment clustered?
Yes
