Abstract
Students at an online university were asked to name a friend or family member with whom they communicated regularly and with whom they do not live. These "Study Supporters" were the texted and/or emailed each week with information about the class and asking them to encourage the students. Outcomes were course completion, grades, and re-enrollment.
