Abstract
We study the effect of increasing grassroots monitoring on the evolution of public investment projects. Specifically, we study the impact of the launching of the website MapaInversiones in Dominican Republic on the percentage of budget used and on the physical progress of public investment projects. Mapainversiones is an online platform where government agencies are required to upload information about the public investment projects they are conducting.

Experimental Design

Experimental Design
On November 2019, we randomly select 436 projects out of 668 that should be uploaded to the website MapaInversiones on December 2019. The randomization was performed using the Stata random number generator after stratification by size of the agency in charge of the project and the size of the projects. There are six sizes of agencies and three size of projects. A total of 436 projects were assigned to upload all its information to the platform and 232 projects were assigned to the control group (the information of them will be uploaded a year after the treatment).
